A Tribute to
Our Outgoing President Logan
In my 27 years
in Rotary, I have not come across a President, who is more dedicated, more
committed, more caring and more service orientated than our outgoing President
Logan.
It requires
many qualities to make a good leader. He has them all. He commands respect,
admiration, love, and above all inspiration for people to willingly follow and
do things for him. He does not use power or authority, nor fear or threats or
sarcasms or humiliations to arm-twist.
He understands
people, and more importantly he understands human relationships. He takes an interest
in everyone in the club, and showers kindness, concern, and care at every
opportunity.
Besides
service, he emphasizes on club solidarity and unity, making sure that there is
no divisive cliquing or side-lining of anyone. Fellowship, he often says, is of
utmost importance in fostering closer relationship and unity among members,
gives life to the club, and from which service sprouts, grows and multiplies.
For him, fellowship is the means to the ends of all things, especially in
Rotary.
His fund
raising of over RM 100,000.00 and a total of 32 service projects for his year
is an unravel record. The amount of time, money and effort he put into them and
the sacrifices he made (by not attending to his vast empire of businesses) not
only elicited admiration but also inspiration.
He is truly a
President among Presidents and an exemplary for future Presidents.
