HPV Vaccination launch by the Prime Minister
Following the launch of the HPV Global Grant project, Cervical Cancer prevention, (Host Club, RC Bangsar and their partner clubs), to vaccinate 6000 refugee and Orang Asli girls with our partner National Cancer Society of Malaysia (NCSM), we have been invited by NCSM to partner with them in their nationwide HPV vaccination for Malaysian girls age between 13 - 20.
The focus is to reach out to 300,000 girls who were not vaccinated due to having dropped out of school, underserved communities, orphanages, and homes where girls have not been vaccinated, including Orang Asli girls. School-going girls will receive their vaccination in their respective schools, scheduled for May / June this year.
The "Leave No One Behind" campaign will target 222 constituencies, with each constituency receiving 1500 vaccines. More details of how Rotary Clubs can be involved will follow.
The launch of this project is scheduled for Wednesday, 28 February 2024, in Tambun, Perak, the constituency of Prime Minister YAB Dato' Seri Anwar Ibrahim. The launch will be officiated by DYMM Raja Permaisuri Perak Darul Ridzuan, and graced by Prime Minister YAB Dato’ Seri Anwar Ibrahim and YB Dato’ Seri Dr. Wan Azizah Binti Dr. Wan Ismail.
